1000 Islands Region Workforce Development Board A non-profit, non-governmental corporation made up of local representatives of business and labour, including representatives of people from racial minorities, people with disabilities, francophones, women, and educators and trainers. Together with community partners, the Local Board endeavours to identify and compile training and adjustment needs and issues of the workforce (Environmental Scan) AND to develop and compile community plans of action that address the identified needs and issues (Local Area Plan).

Career Services of Brockville Vocational assessment, training, resume preparation, employment plans and preparation, job search assistance, job placement options and job coaching. Accommodation and adaptation, assistance to employers. Flexible support geared to the individual. There may be a waiting list for some services. Open to people (18 years and up) who wish to work and who experience barriers to employment.

Employment and Education Centre Job Connect participants can access services three ways:
- Information and referral service provides all self motivated clients access to a wide range of employment resources.
- Employment planning and preparation provides clients with individual career counselling and workshops to access the job market.
- Job development placement support provides clients with on-the-job training and employers with a $4.00 per hour training subsidy to employ Job Connect participants up to 16 weeks full-time employment.
Primarily for youth 16 - 24 years of age, who are out of work, out of school, out of training and not receiving Employment Insurance (EI) or Work Safety Insurance Benefits (WSIB). Candidates who meet all the criteria but are over age can be enrolled if room is available.
